No 8 #Tulsa vs No 9 #Wisconsin #WFPPlayoff

Our last game of the first round was certainly enjoyable. As I slept I missed a back and forth game between the best that Conference USA had to offer and the best eligible team that the B1G could put forth for the post season. This game was the tale of two halves.

Going into the break Tulsa had taken a commanding 10-0 lead (huge leads in the B1G) behind a steady dose of Trey Watts and Alex Singleton in the backfield. Singleton finally found the end zone with just over 3 minutes remaining in the first half on a 21 yard off tackle rumble.

Wisconsin, which couldn't be stopped in Indy a couple weeks ago looked to be suffering from the loss of Bielema who jumped ship to Ar-Kansas. Something lit a fire in Montee Ball's belly in the second half. On Wisconsin's first three possessions of the new half Montee Ball found the End Zone with a pair of 1 yard leaps over the pile and 46 yard rumble up the right sideline. Tulsa answered in the 4th with a pair of field goals to put them within striing distance. Despite stout defensive play from the Golden Hurricane in the final quarter, the offense was not able to cross the 50 in the final 6 minutes. Wiscy 21-16

Wiscy moves on to face Notre Dame in South Bend. If they can continue to control the LOS, they maybe a tougher out than I originally thought.

Key Stats

- Both squads rushed for over 200 yards
- Wiscy dominated TOP with 37:23
- No turnovers. Both teams took care of the ball

The first round is in the books y'all.

ND vs Wiscy up next.
